Introduction:
Have you ever felt the urge to explore unknown parts of a city? That's what happened to me when I went on a journey through the vibrant streets of Dhaka City. In this blog, I will take you along on my exciting adventures as I uncover hidden gems and create lasting memories in the heart of the bustling capital. From exciting encounters to breathtaking views, join me as we explore the enchanting tapestry of Dhaka City.
Exploring Shantibagh Nur Masjid Road:
My journey began on July 17, 2023, when I took a rickshaw from Mirpur 2 Leguna Stand. I wanted to discover new places, so I headed towards Shantibagh Nur Masjid Road, which is about 8 kilometres away. The route took me past famous landmarks like Tejgaon, Hatirjheel Bridge, and Mogbazar. As I travelled, I witnessed the city's vibrant energy and rich history.
When I reached Shantibagh Nur Masjid Road, I met my friend Tasin, who lives in the area. He was very hospitable and invited me to his home. But before that, he took me up to his rooftop, where I had a fantastic view of the entire city. Tasin pointed out different neighbourhoods like Khilgaon, Kakrail, Shantinagar, and Rajarbagh, which made me curious to explore them in the future. As the day came to an end, I said goodbye to Tasin and took a bus from Malibagh Mor, feeling excited about the adventures ahead. In addition, the sky was beautifully decorated with clouds that day.
A Day of Fun and Friendship in Pirerbagh:
A few days later, on July 21, I went to Pirerbagh in search of more adventure. While wandering through the lively streets, I met my friend Rafin, also known as Mushi. Together, we explored Pirerbagh and Shewrapara, discovering hidden treasures in these bustling neighbourhoods. We laughed, enjoyed each other's company, and shared the joy of exploration.
Eventually, we arrived at Rafin's house, where we had a delicious lunch and engaged in interesting conversations about various topics. Time flew by as we enjoyed each other's company. When the sun began to set, we said our goodbyes, cherishing the memories we had made. With a grateful heart, I made my way back home, carrying the warmth of our friendship with me.
Uttara Sector 4: Discovering Hidden Gems:
On July 24, I decided to continue my exploration and headed towards Abdullahpur to reach Uttara Sector 4. There, I met my friend Aman, who kindly offered to show me around the vibrant streets and hidden gems of the area. We took a leisurely walk through Uttara Sector 4, visiting famous places like Rajlaxmi Complex and trendy cafes and restaurants.
Aman's local knowledge led us to a beautiful park with a mesmerizing view of the city skyline. As we admired the beauty around us, we engaged in lively discussions about politics, sports, and the latest neighbourhood news. As the sun set, I said goodbye to Aman, feeling grateful for the wonderful experiences we shared. The journey back home was filled with a sense of fulfilment and excitement for future adventures.
A Peaceful Encounter in Shyamoli:
On July 31, I explored Agargaon and then ventured into the serene streets of Shyamoli. There, I met my friend Prity, and we found a peaceful field nearby where we spent hours in engaging conversations. Prity also shared exciting details about our mutual friends living in her area, sparking plans for future visits and adventures together.
As the day came to a close, I walked back to Agargaon and bid farewell to Prity, carrying the wonderful memories we had created. The moments spent together would always hold a special place in my heart. It was sunset and the sky was awesome then so I took a picture with my phone.
An Adventurous Friday:
After the peaceful encounter in Shyamoli, my exploration of Dhaka City continued on August 4th. I embarked on a bus from Mirpur 2, heading towards Budda, near the Merul U Loop bridge. My purpose was to catch a glimpse of our new campus at Brac University, which was still under construction. With eager anticipation, I envisioned the vibrant learning environment that would soon come to life within its walls. The campus was a testament to progress and the pursuit of knowledge, and I looked forward to the day when it would welcome students from all walks of life.
Leaving the future campus behind, I embarked on a leisurely walk from Rampura to Malibagh, a journey that took me approximately 47 minutes. As I strolled along the streets, I absorbed the sights and sounds of the city, marvelling at its dynamic energy.
Arriving at Malibagh, I had the opportunity to attend Jummah Prayer in the serene surroundings of Shantibagh Nur Masjid. However, on that particular day, the weather had different plans. Rain poured heavily, causing the streets to flood due to a poor drainage system and blockages. Undeterred by the rain, I waded through the water, determined to reach the mosque.
To my surprise, amidst the rain and flooded streets, I encountered another friend, Nadvi, who resides in Momenbagh, just two blocks away from Shantibagh Nur Masjid. We exchanged greetings and briefly caught up on each other's lives, but I understood that Nadvi had his business to attend to. Nonetheless, he shared intriguing stories about the neighbourhood and its vibrant history, enriching my understanding of the area.
With the rain still pouring, I bid farewell to Nadvi and continued my journey through the flooded streets of Rajarbagh towards Malibagh Mor. Despite the challenging conditions, I maintained a sense of adventure, knowing that every experience adds depth to the tapestry of memories I was creating.
Finally, at Malibagh Mor, I boarded the bus that would take me back to Mirpur 2, bringing my semester's journey to a close. As I reflected on the various adventures, I felt a profound sense of gratitude for the experiences that Dhaka City had offered me.
Conclusion
